You can use CoPromote as an introduction and tool to convert new audiences to real fans of your own and increase social engagements to your content on the web. Connect with other content creators who have recommended your promotions to their own networks of fans, follow up with new content to new fans, and help share other interesting content to your own fans by other people in our community.
When you create a new promotion on CoPromote, this is sent out as a promotion request to our community and other people will have a chance to check out your message and link(s). When someone accepts your promotion request, they are recommending your content to their fans and your message will post to their social networks.

If you aren’t sure how to effectively use CoPromote or want personalized help, feel free to send us a direct message by email or reach us on Live Help.
To run promotions on CoPromote, we require you to link at least 1 social network from Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr.
In My Dashboard, click the link under Next Steps to connect your networks to your account. You will need to have at least 1 existing fan or follower on the account/page.
You can update existing network connections by going to your Settings > Social Networking.
When connecting a new network, we will request permissions to update your accounts, send email you notifications and access your networks and images. Connecting an account enables us to post promotions to your page feeds and we will not modify any of your account information.
We never post anything without your permission, only content you approve through accepting recommendations.
Note before connecting a Facebook page:
- We can only access public fan pages.
- You cannot connect the same fan page to more than one account on CoPromote.
- We cannot connect to private profiles and we cannot work with Facebook Groups.
- Make sure that you have administrator privileges to manage the page.
- Make sure you select the right page to feature and share content with if you have multiple pages.
- Make sure that you have at least one fan on the page or we can’t see it.
- If you have difficulties connecting a page, try logging out of your Facebook account first.
- If you do not have an existing Facebook page, you can create one here: facebook.com/pages/create.
A promotion is a short message that includes a sentence or two about content you want other people to engage with and a shareable link. Content you promote should be original and yours.
For more information on Promotions, go to Create A Promotion.
CoPromote encourages people to exchange content through Promotions. Other people’s promotions will show up in your Promotion Requests feed for you to recommend and share.
When you accept a promotion request from another person, they are sent out in the form of status updates on the requested social networks you have linked: Facebook, Twitter, and/or Tumblr.
Promotion Requests, aka Requests, are CoPromote’s notifications to alert you that other members would like you to share their content on your pages based on similar categories or interests. Requests are recently created promotions by other members in the community.
To see who has submitted a Promotion Request to you, navigate to the Promotion Requests panel. Click “Recommend This” for any request in the Promotion Requests queue you want to share, otherwise “Decline”.
To protect your privacy, every Request must be approved by you first before it can be shared on your social networks. To be fair, CoPromote will never post anything without your permission. Simply decline requests you’re not interested or comfortable posting. This will load more promotion requests to select from if available to share to your fans.
You can accept up to 3 Requests per day. Recommendations you accept can be posted once in one of three available time slots: morning, afternoon or night, 11AM, 3PM, and 7PM EST respectively. It is suggested to share proportionately less than than the number of updates you typically post on your networks.
See here to learn more about Promotion Requests:
Fans are the total combined number of friends and followers of your connected social networks from Facebook, Tumblr, or Twitter.
Fan reach is the total number of new fans your promotion was shared to. This is based on the number of people who have recommended your promotion and the number of fans they have on their networks where your promotion was shared to.
For example, a member who has a combined 5000 total fans on their connected social networks on CoPromote and shared your promotion will net you 5000 new fans reached.
After each completed promotion, it is suggested that you follow up and connect directly with other members who recommended and shared your promotion to their fans. This is another way to better engage and convert these new fans reached to actual fans of your own.
Members “pay” for promotions using a virtual currency called “Karma Cash”.
One fan is equivalent to one Karma Cash. The exact cost of running and completing your promotion is equal to how many fans the people who recommended you have in Karma Cash. When you create a new promotion, we will estimate how many fans you will be able to reached based on your available Karma Cash balance. Karma Cash will only be deducted when another person accepts your recommendation request.
Unsubscribed users are deducted a promotion fee (in karma cash) of 15% for any one promotion.
Example: Running a promotion with an influencer who has 40,000 fans will cost unsubscribed users 55,000 Karma Cash. Subscribed members will be waived the promotion fee and it will cost you 40,000 Karma Cash.
Karma Cash is CoPromote’s virtual currency for running promotions. It allows people to exchange recommendations and reach new audiences with their content.
Karma Cash is spent when another member recommends your promotion to their fans. You give them Karma Cash based on how many fans they have on the network they promote your content on.
Click Get Karma Cash to learn more.
As soon as a promotion request has been approved to be posted, it will be scheduled to post based on the next available time slot.
There are 3 time slots: Morning (11 AM EST), Afternoon (3 PM EST) and Evening (7 PM EST).
Your promotion will run in the earliest available slot based on how many other promotions the other influencers have already accepted. The earliest a promotion can be scheduled to post is typically 1 day after the promotion has posted since it will take some time before your promotion appears in other members’ Promotion Requests feed.
You can select how long you want your promotion to run. You can create a promotion that runs for as short as 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, or as long as 30 days. The longer you run your promotion, the higher your chance of getting recommended by other members. Longer promotions work best if you have sufficient karma cash or only have 1 campaign you want to run.
Basic members can run one promotion at a time. Subscribers can run an unlimited number of promotions at a time simultaneously.
The real number of promotions you can run is based on how much available karma cash you have. The more Karma Cash you have, the more promotions you will be able to complete and get better results.
Every promotion you create on CoPromote will be sent out as a Promotion Request to our community and must be manually approved by another member before it earns Fan Reach. Therefore, people will be selective in what content they choose to promote on their networks.
There are several reasons someone may choose not to accept your promotion request. Note that these reasons are not always related to you and your work. Some promotions will outperform others based on level of interest, so don’t get discouraged.
Here are some common reasons for lack of recommendations and where you can improve:
Remember to be engaging with your message. You want to capture the attention of your audience. Tip: Experiment with new promotion messages – if people aren’t sharing after a few days, stop the promotion and start a new one with a different message. If you’re not sure where to improve, send us a message and we’re happy to offer some suggestions.
First person versus third person
The most common reason promotions aren’t recommended is that they are written from a first person point of view, i.e. “I/My/Our/We/Us/”. Your promotion is shared on other people’s network feeds so it would be confusing. Try to avoid and use only your name or third person, i.e. “He/She/They”.
Your promotion message only includes a link or no content
Messages without substance do not generate any interest for people to want to recommend your content, and may sometimes be rejected as spam. Be both creative and engaging in your message to increase your chances of being recommended and earning new engagements.
Objectionable, offensive, misleading or problematic language
This will result in fewer or no people recommending your content. Remember, you are asking people within the CoPromote community who aren’t part of your network to recommend you. Be sincere and clear in your message as it’s a representation of your work.
CoPromote is a growing community of people who are promoting content to niche markets. Sometimes your niche just doesn’t fit well with the other people we send your Promotion Request the first time around. Hashtags are a great way to help people identify with what you are promoting (i.e. #robotcity, #funkrock)
Bad Link / No Link
Make sure your link works first. Remember to review the promotion before creating it. If promoting a Facebook page, make sure the page or post is visible when you are logged out.
Post / Spam Control
In order to prevent people from abusing the system and over-messaging, we limit the number of promotions you can accept on any given day to 3 (once in the morning/noon/evening).
When people review their promotion requests, they are likely to choose the best messages which will fit well with their fans. If your messages are not compelling, they will likely be passed over in favor of better messages.
Low Karma Cash Balance
Having low Karma Cash means less opportunity for gaining new Fan Reach and people recommending your content
The number of recommendations and fans reached per promotion you earn a promotion is directly dependent on how much Karma Cash is in your balance. See Get Karma Cash to earn more for your promotions.
SoundCloud, Vimeo, and WordPress is directly integrated to CoPromote, and you can also login to your account if you have a WordPress account.
Connecting these accounts will allow you to feature your content on CoPromote to other members of the community. Additionally, linking your content – posts, sounds, or videos, incentivizes other community members to recommend you and connect with you on your social pages.
- To connect your SoundCloud, Vimeo, or WordPress account, click on your avatar and access the Settings > Media.
- Follow the steps to connect your account and select which media you would like to display in your profile. Content you select will be visible when other people see your Promotion Request.
Note: Your SoundCloud tracks and/or Vimeo videos need to be set to Public and available for app sharing.
When you run a promotion on CoPromote, we deduct Karma Cash from your account to pay for that social transaction of sharing your message.
If someone recommends your promotion, posts it, but then decides to delete it, we will deduct that cost from their accounts and it will be returned to you.
CoPromote is about sharing recommendations. If those recommendations are not visible, it defeats the purpose and we do not believe you should “pay” for them.
