  Five Runners Up for Headliner’s Band of the Month 

  For every contest winner in life, there are also runners up, folks who came close but were edged out for some reason or other.

  At Headliner, we want to help all of our users get heard. So, we’ve decided to start showing some love to all the artists who came close to winning the Band of the Month contest. Below are 5 runners up for the Good Charlotte Band of the Month contest that was won by Aim for the Weekend.

  All the runners up below will be receiving 100,000 free band bucks to help them get their music out there. Congratulations again to everyone who not only won and entered this contest, but has the heart and soul to make music every day.

  The Monks of Mellonwah are a four piece alternative funk/rock band from Sydney, Australia. The Monks have recently filmed their first music video for “Swamp Groove” out of their first EP, Stars are Out.

  O.A.R. Picks Ryanhood as Headliner’s Band of the Month 

  

  Ryanhood is Ryan Green and Cameron Hood – called “a match made in radio heaven” by the Arizona Daily Star. They’ve shared stages with Jason Mraz, Matt Nathanson, and Train, and even been tweeted about by Ellen Degeneres, who shared the band with millions of her followers. Their sweet and soaring harmonies, mesmerizing guitar melodies, and honest, searching lyrics all fit somewhere between Simon & Garfunkel, Arcade Fire, Mumford & Sons, and Jimmy Eat World.

  

  Ryanhood was chosen by O.A.R. as the latest Headliner.fm Band of the Month, and received a shout out on all of O.A.R.’s social networks, reaching 500,000 fans.   JoJo To Judge Headliner.fm’s Band of the Month Contest 

  

  Headliner is very excited to have singer, songwriter and Pop phenomenon JoJo judging our next Band of the Month Contest!

  Long before she was old enough to drink in most states, 20 year-old artist JoJo was already a veteran of the music industry. Born Joanna Noëlle Blagden Levesque and raised on the East Coast, the English/Irish/Scottish/Polish/French/Native American singer and actress did not waste time getting noticed. While most kids were doing homework, JoJo was making the rounds as one of America’s most talented kids, performing on television with Bill Cosby an Oprah Winfrey and acting in the Bernie Mac Show and films including RV with Robin Williams. At 12 years old, she was signed to Blackground Records; at 13, she was the youngest artist to score a number 1 hit. JoJo’s self-titled debut sold over 300 million units, went platinum and charted on both the Billboard’s Top 200 and R&B/Hip Hop charts. Although she was born into a low-income family, JoJo was ranked among Forbes top earners under 25 in 2007. Her latest album, Jumping Trains, is out on Blackground-Interscope-Streamline now. The combination of her talent and industry experience, as well as her personal background, make her an ideal judge for Headliner’s Band of the Month contest.

  The winner of the Band of the Month contest will be selected by JoJo herself and will receive a shout out from her on Facebook, where she will recommend the winner to her 500,000 fans. They will also win a free Headliner Pro subscription. Runners-up will receive 100,000 free band bucks.

  O.A.R. Judges Headliner’s Band of the Month Contest 

  

  Headliner’s Band of the Month contest is one of our most popular features. We try to recruit a diverse range of artists to represent our community. Our latest partners this time around are classic American rockers, O.A.R. (Of a Revolution). Formed in Rockville, Maryland in 1996, O.A.R. amassed a loyal following largely through word-of-mouth and working the college campus networks. Their grassroots approach to gigging and their dedication to various charities make them a great choice to judge the next band on the rise. Their latest album, King, was recorded in each members’ home town and is out now on Wind-Up Records.

  

  As always, new users that sign up through the registration link are automatically entered. Existing users, just drop us an email to be included. The contest is live now and runs through November 15th. The winning band will receive a shout-out to over 500,000 fans from O.A.R. across all their social networks.
