    SF Music Tech Summit

On Monday, an army of industry heavyweights descended on San Francisco for the annual SF Music Tech Summit. The summit, a discussion of emerging technologies and programs, attracted its fair share of entrepreneurs eager to demonstrate their creations, as well as stalwarts sharing their experiences. Among speakers present were Rhapsody’s Tim Quirk, Pandora’s CTO Tom Conrad and Ali Partovi, the former CEO of iLike. Check out a further recap of events here.

Village Voice Article on Vinyl Resurgence:

The Village Voice blog has an interesting article today on the resurgence of vinyl. An interesting revelation in the article is Other Music owner Chris Vanderloo’s statement that vinyl has jumped from 10 to 25% of his sales over the past year. Vinyl isn’t just for the classics either; according to Vanderloo, some vinyl releases of recent albums are actually outselling their counterparts on CD. Who buys CDs anymore anyway?

Check out the Voice’s piece here.
